Will it touch them in some way? Maybe make them smile\u2026<\/p>\n<p>This publication day is particularly special \u2013 because this is the publication of <a href=\"http:\/\/100storiesforqueensland.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">100 Stories For Queensland<\/a>.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1949\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1949\" style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/janetgover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/flood-damage-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1949 \" title=\"The damage was terrible\" src=\"http:\/\/janetgover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/flood-damage-1-300x294.jpg\" alt=\"The damage was terrible\" width=\"210\" height=\"206\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1949\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The damage was terrible<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After the devastating floods in January \u2013 the call went out for writers to donate stories for a fund raising anthology. More than 300 stories were offered \u2013 and I was very pleased to be one of the 100 selected for inclusion in the book.<\/p>\n<p>This is very a personal project for me \u2013 these photos were sent to me by friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>I grew up in these places \u2013 and lost part of my past when the floods came.<\/p>\n<p>But what I lost was nothing compared to families who lost everything. It&#8217;s wonderful to think that in some small way. I&#8217;ve been able to help.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve already got my copy of 100 stories. There&#8217;s some great reading (and I like to think my story On The Road East is worth a look too). If you like a good read, and want to help some people who need it, please do buy a copy.
